Since 1981, A Safe Place (formerly the Women’s Center of Warren and Forest Counties) has been dedicated to providing quality, confidential support services and advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence throughout Warren and Forest Counties, 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Those services include:

to the hospital, legal services, police or other helping agencies

INFORMATION

on how to file criminal charges or resources for other legal options

in obtaining Civil Protection Orders. (Protection From Abuse Order, Sexual Violence Protection Order, Protection From Intimidation Order)

REFERRAL

for housing, custody or support, financial assistance, transportation assistance, etc.

SUPPORT COUNSELING

FREE & CONFIDENTIAL to help victims and significant others through the trauma of victimization

SAFETY PLANNING

Individualized to assist victims, family members, etc. Develop strategies for safety for home, work, etc.

SHELTER

for victims and/or their children providing a safe, home-like environment for up to 30 days at no charge

A Safe Place also provides ADVOCACY and AWARENESS through conducting trainings to professionals in the community and prevention education programs in the Warren and Forest area schools.

In 2015, A Safe Place has also expanded our services in Forest County which are now available Monday-Friday and now also operates the Crime Victims Program of Warren County at the Warren County Courthouse to provide services to victims of all crime as their cases proceed through the criminal and/or juvenile justice process.

Always Understanding and Support

A Safe Place has a shelter for victims and their children, where you can stay up for 30 days At No Charge. (The shelter is staffed by trained staff and volunteers who can assist you in sorting out your options while you remain in a Home-Like Safe Place.)
